The Annunciation Cathedral is an Orthodox cathedral located in Kharkiv, Ukraine. It is the seat of the Kharkiv Eparchy.
Visual Characteristics
The cathedral is constructed primarily of brick, with a white facade. It features a prominent central dome and several smaller domes, all painted blue with gold stars. The architectural style is Neo-Byzantine. The main structure stands approximately 50 meters tall.

The cathedral is situated at Universitetska Street, 1, in the central part of Kharkiv. It is approximately 1.5 kilometers east of the city center. Public parking is available on adjacent streets, though capacity is limited. Tram lines 5 and 12 stop within a 5-minute walk at the "Universytetska Street" stop. Bus routes 11, 20, and 31 also serve the area.

Construction of the Annunciation Cathedral began in 1888 and was completed in 1901. The architect was Mikhail Lovtsov. The original purpose was to serve as a major religious center for the city of Kharkiv.

Facts & Legends
During the Soviet era, the cathedral was used for storage and was nearly demolished. A local legend states that the original plans for the cathedral were lost and rediscovered by a street sweeper, leading to its eventual completion.
