The Historic Milwaukee Train Station, officially known as the Milwaukee Intermodal Station, is a transportation hub located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

This structure serves as a central point for passenger rail and bus services within the city.

Visual Characteristics

The station building is constructed primarily of limestone and granite. It features a prominent clock tower and a large arched entrance. The interior concourse is characterized by high ceilings and extensive use of marble and terrazzo flooring. The architectural style is a blend of Beaux-Arts and Renaissance Revival.

Location & Access Logistics

The station is situated at 433 West St. Paul Avenue, approximately 1.5 kilometers south of Milwaukee's downtown core. Access is via I-43 South, exiting at St. Paul Avenue. Ample parking is available in an adjacent multi-story garage. Several Milwaukee County Transit System bus routes serve the station, including routes 14, 15, 19, 30, and 80. Amtrak and Greyhound bus services also operate from this location.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The station was constructed between 1955 and 1960, replacing an earlier Union Station. It was designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Its original purpose was to consolidate rail and bus operations into a modern, efficient facility.
