It is a prominent example of Byzantine architecture in Northeast China.

The cathedral is constructed primarily of brick and stone. Its exterior is painted a pale green, with white trim around windows and doorways. The structure features a large, central dome topped with a smaller dome, and multiple smaller domes on surrounding towers. The main dome is gilded. The building stands approximately 53 meters (174 feet) tall. Architectural style is Byzantine Revival.
