The monument is a preserved 1950s Soviet-built Whiskey-class submarine, designated as KRI Pasopati 410. It is painted in a dark grey, weathered hull color. The submarine is partially submerged in a concrete basin, with its conning tower and deck accessible to visitors. The overall length of the visible portion is approximately 76 meters.

KRI Pasopati 410 was constructed in the Soviet Union in 1952 and entered service with the Indonesian Navy in 1962. It was decommissioned in 1990 and subsequently converted into a museum, opening to the public in 2006. Its original purpose was submarine warfare and reconnaissance.
