Co-op City is a large housing cooperative located in the northeastern section of the Bronx, New York City.
It is one of the largest housing complexes in the United States, comprising over 35 buildings.

The complex consists of 35 residential towers, each approximately 24 stories high, constructed primarily from concrete and brick. The buildings are arranged in a grid-like pattern with extensive green spaces between them. The dominant colors are muted grays and browns of the concrete and brickwork, contrasted with the green of the manicured lawns and mature trees.

Co-op City is situated at the eastern end of the Bronx, bordering Westchester County. It is approximately 15 miles northeast of Midtown Manhattan. Co-op City was developed by the United Housing Foundation and construction began in 1965, with the first residents moving in in 1968. It was designed by architect Herman J. Jessor. The original purpose was to provide affordable housing for middle-income families through a cooperative ownership model. The site was previously undeveloped land, part of the larger area known as the Eastchester section of the Bronx.
