Fenway Park is situated at 4 Yawkey Way, Boston, MA 02215. It is approximately 2.5 miles east of Boston's city center. Public transportation is the recommended access method. The MBTA Green Line's Kenmore station (B, C, and D branches) is located adjacent to the park. Several bus routes also serve the area, including the 8, 19, 29, 55, and 60.

Historical & Ecological Origin

Construction began in 1911, and the park opened on April 20, 1912. It was designed by architect James McLaughlin and built by Charles Logue. Its original purpose was to serve as the home stadium for the Boston Red Sox (then known as the Boston Americans).

Key Highlights & Activities

Attend a Boston Red Sox baseball game. Take a guided stadium tour, which typically includes access to the Green Monster. Visit the team store. Observe the park's historical architectural elements.

Infrastructure & Amenities

Restrooms are available throughout the stadium. Concession stands offering food and beverages are located on multiple levels. Cell phone signal (4G/5G) is generally available within the stadium. Designated smoking areas are located outside the main entrances.

Best Time to Visit

For optimal lighting for photography of the stadium's exterior, consider late afternoon. The baseball season runs from April through October, with game times varying. Check the official Red Sox schedule for specific dates and times.

Facts & Legends

The Green Monster was originally built to obscure the view of the adjacent apartment buildings and to prevent home runs from being hit out of the park. It is one of the last remaining "manual" scoreboards in Major League Baseball, with numbers and letters changed by hand.
