Facts & Legends
A technical oddity is that for decades, "kissing the Gänseliesel" was officially forbidden by a 1906 city bylaw; the rule was only formally rescinded in 2001. Legend states that she is the "most kissed girl in the world," though she is essentially a simple goose-girl representing the region's humble agricultural past.
