Facts & Legends
The John Harvard Statue in Harvard Yard is often referred to as the "Statue of Three Lies" because the inscription states he was born in 1608, graduated in 1630, and founded the college in 1636, all of which are historically inaccurate. He was born in 1607, graduated in 1632, and did not found the college.
