The palace served as the inspiration for the "Ode" (Óda), one of the most famous Hungarian love poems, written by Attila József while attending a writers' conference here in 1933. A local legend claims the building was originally designed to be a royal hunting lodge, but the scale was increased to accommodate high-level state functions.
