Access is via the paved MR9 road heading toward Mahamba, turning onto a signed unpaved dirt track that leads to the Mahamba Gorge Lodge and reception center. The approach road is accessible by standard passenger cars during dry weather, though high-clearance vehicles are recommended after heavy rains. Public transport users can board a kombi from Nhlangano to the Mahamba junction and walk or arrange a short local transport to the reserve entrance. Unpaved parking is available at the lodge base.
