Access is via the Marangu Gate, located 45 kilometers (28 miles) northeast of Moshi town. The trek from Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut covers approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles) and takes 3-4 hours. There is no vehicle access to the hut; all supplies and personnel must be carried by foot or porter. Parking is available at Marangu Gate.
