The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury, was originally built in London in the 12th century. It was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666 and rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren. The church was later dismantled and shipped to the United States, re-erected on the Westminster College campus in the 1960s. It serves as a memorial to Winston Churchill, who delivered his "Sinews of Peace" (Iron Curtain) speech at Westminster College in 1946.
