The arch is constructed from brownstone and granite. It stands approximately 60 feet (18 meters) high and 50 feet (15 meters) wide. The architectural style is Romanesque Revival, featuring rounded arches, heavy stonework, and decorative carvings. Two large bronze statues, representing Peace and War, are positioned on either side of the main archway.
