Historical & Ecological Origin

Construction of Tugu Muda began in 1950 and was completed in 1953. It was designed by architect Ir. Silaban. The monument was erected to honor the youth who fought and died in the five-day battle against Japanese occupation forces and later Allied forces in October 1945, known as the Battle of Semarang.
