The journey typically takes 1 to 1.5 hours.

The villa was constructed in 1987 under the patronage of Princess Mother Srinagarindra (Somdej Phra Srinagarindra Borommaratchachonnani) as part of the Doi Tung Development Project. The project aimed to eradicate opium cultivation and improve socio-economic conditions for the hill tribes in the area. The site is located within the Doi Tung mountain range, a region characterized by subtropical montane forests.
