Exiles Beach is located along Triq it-Torri (Tower Road) in Sliema, approximately 1.5 kilometers west of the Sliema Ferries terminal. Limited street parking is available on side streets adjacent to Triq it-Torri. The area is well-served by public transport, with several bus stops along Triq it-Torri for routes such as 13, 14, and 16, connecting to various parts of Malta.

The site's geological origin is a natural limestone coastal shelf, typical of the Maltese islands. The name Exiles is derived from the Exiles Sports Club, a prominent water polo club established in the early 20th century, which maintains a presence and water polo pitch at this location.
