The Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden located in Peradeniya, near Kandy, Sri Lanka.
It is one of the largest botanical gardens in Asia, covering 147 acres.

Public bus routes 600-series and 700-series operate frequently between Kandy town and Peradeniya, stopping directly at the garden entrance. Limited parking is available on-site.

Established in 1843 by the British colonial administration, the gardens were initially intended for acclimatizing exotic plants. Its predecessor, the "Royal Pleasure Garden of Peradeniya," was established in 1799 by the last King of Kandy. The site's ecological origin is a lowland tropical rainforest ecosystem.

Visitors can explore the Orchid House, the Great Lawn, the Avenue of Palms, the Spice Garden, and the National Herbarium. Walking tours are available. Photography is permitted.

A notable feature is the "Royal Palm Avenue," planted in 1905. It is said that a rare orchid species, the "Peradeniya Orchid," was first discovered and cultivated here, though its exact current status is unconfirmed.
