Shaver Lake is a reservoir located in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, approximately 50 miles northeast of Fresno.
This artificial lake was created by the construction of the Shaver Dam.

Shaver Lake was formed in 1927 with the completion of the Shaver Dam, an arch-gravity concrete dam built by the San Joaquin Light and Power Corporation (now Pacific Gas and Electric Company). Its original purpose was to provide hydroelectric power and water storage for irrigation in the Central Valley. Ecologically, the area is part of the Sierra Nevada mixed conifer forest ecosystem.
