Facts & Legends
A technical oddity is the dry-stone technique used for parts of the interior marble paneling to ensure longevity against moisture. Legend states that King Ludwig I personally selected the first 160 individuals to be honored, including figures from the early Middle Ages to ensure the collection reflected a deep historical lineage.
