The Brinton House was built between 1917 and 1924 by William M. Brinton, a Philadelphia native who moved to Wyoming for ranching. The property was originally part of the historic Quarter Circle A Ranch. The museum was established in 1960 to preserve the Brinton family's legacy and showcase their art collection, as well as to interpret the history and culture of the American West.
