The mausoleum features a central dome, octagonal in shape, constructed from white marble. The facade is adorned with intricate geometric tilework in shades of blue, green, and yellow. The minaret is square and stands at approximately 20 meters. The complex includes a courtyard with a central fountain and surrounding arcades.

The Mausoleum of Sidi Sahab is situated approximately 2 kilometers west of Kairouan's city center. Access is via Route P12. Parking is available on-site, with designated areas for vehicles. Construction of the mausoleum began in the 17th century, commissioned by the Bey of Tunis. It was later expanded and renovated in the 19th century. The site is built on a foundation of local sandstone. The original purpose was to house the tomb of Sidi Sahab and serve as a place of pilgrimage.

Legend states that Abu Zamaa El Balaoui carried three hairs from the Prophet Muhammad's beard, which are believed to be interred with him. A specific tip for visitors is to look for the small, carved wooden doors leading into the prayer hall, which display exceptional craftsmanship.
