The Petronas Twin Towers are a pair of skyscrapers located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004.
Visual Characteristics
Each tower stands at 451.9 meters (1,483 feet) and comprises 88 floors. The buildings are constructed primarily of reinforced concrete, with a facade of stainless steel and glass. The design is inspired by Islamic geometric patterns, featuring a star-shaped floor plan.

The towers are situated in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) precinct. They are accessible via Jalan Ampang and Jalan P. Ramlee. The KLCC LRT station (Kelana Jaya Line) is directly connected to the towers via an underground pedestrian walkway. Several bus routes also serve the KLCC area, including routes 300, 302, and 401.

Construction began in 1992 and was completed in 1997. The towers were designed by architect César Pelli. Their original purpose was to serve as the headquarters for the national oil company, Petronas.

Visitors can ascend to the Skybridge, a double-decked skybridge connecting the two towers on the 41st and 42nd floors. Access to the Observation Deck on the 86th floor is also available. Guided tours of the towers are offered.
