Ao Nang Beach is situated about 20 kilometers west of Krabi Town. Access from Krabi Town is via Highway 4034, which becomes Krabi Road and then Ao Nang Road. Public transport includes songthaews (shared taxis) operating on fixed routes from Krabi Town and other local areas. Longtail boats are readily available for hire at the beach to access nearby islands.
