Historical & Ecological Origin
The site was previously occupied by the Crossroads Mall, which was demolished to make way for City Creek Center. Construction began in 2006 and was completed in 2012. The project was developed by Taubman Centers and City Creek Reserve, Inc., an affiliate of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The "creek" feature is a man-made watercourse designed to mimic the natural City Creek that once flowed through the area.
