Turn right onto Maryland Route 60 West (Dual Highway) and continue for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto West Carter Avenue. Parking is available on-site. No public transport directly serves the Ark; private vehicle is the primary access method.

Construction of the Ark began in 1976 and was completed in 1982 by Answers in Genesis, a Christian apologetics organization. Its purpose is to serve as a physical representation of the biblical narrative of Noah's Ark and to promote a literal interpretation of the Genesis account of creation.
