The bridge is constructed with a Town lattice truss design. Its exterior is clad in vertical wooden planks, painted a distinctive red. The roof is made of metal. The bridge measures approximately 100 feet in length and 18 feet in width. The wooden deck is designed for single-lane vehicle traffic.

The Taftsville Covered Bridge is situated 3 miles east of Woodstock village center on Taftsville Road (VT Route 4). Access is directly from VT Route 4. Parking is available on the north side of the bridge in a small, unpaved lot. No public transport services directly reach the bridge.
