Historical & Ecological Origin
The site was formerly occupied by the World Trade Center, which opened in 1985. CentralWorld was redeveloped and reopened in its current form in 2006 by the Central Pattana Public Company Limited. Its original purpose was to serve as a major commercial and retail center for Bangkok.
