The Victory Monument in Netanya is a national memorial located in Israel dedicated to the Red Army's victory over Nazi Germany. It stands within the seaside cliffs of South Netanya, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

The monument consists of two primary elements: a dark, circular concrete bunker and two massive white wings made of Carrara marble. The marble wings reach a height of 15 meters and are curved to resemble a giant bird or a set of sails against the coastal horizon. The interior of the bunker contains bronze reliefs depicting the Holocaust and the subsequent military struggle on the Eastern Front.

The site is situated on Oved Ben Ami Boulevard, approximately 3 kilometers south of the Netanya city center. Access is available via Route 2, exiting at the Netanya South Interchange and following signs for the Iris Reserve. Public transport is serviced by Egged bus lines 7 and 32, which stop at the nearby Ir Yamim district. Free paved parking is located directly adjacent to the memorial plaza.

The monument was inaugurated in June 2012 following a joint initiative by the governments of Israel and Russia. It was designed by a team of artists including Salavat Shcherbakov, Vasiliy Danilov, and Mikhail Naroditsky. The structure serves as a permanent tribute to the soldiers who fought in the Red Army during World War II.

Best Time to Visit

Photography is optimal during the golden hour before sunset, as the white marble reflects the orange light and the sun sets directly behind the monument over the water. Temperatures are most manageable from October to May. The site is open 24 hours a day and is illuminated by spotlights after dark.
