Bus routes 5, 6, 15, and 18 stop at stations near the promenade's entrances.

The Caspian Shore Promenade was developed as part of a large-scale urban renewal project initiated in the early 2000s. The area was previously a less developed industrial and port zone. The Caspian Sea itself is the world's largest inland body of water, bordered by five countries, including Azerbaijan.
