Drayton Hall is a historic plantation house located in Charleston, South Carolina. It is the oldest preserved plantation house in America open to the public.

The main house is a Georgian-Palladian style structure constructed of red brick. It features a symmetrical facade with a central portico supported by four Tuscan columns. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The exterior walls are unpainted, revealing the original brickwork. The house is two stories high with a basement. Interior features include original woodwork, plaster, and hand-painted scenic wallpaper.

Construction of Drayton Hall began in 1738 and was completed in 1742. It was built by John Drayton, a wealthy planter and politician. The original purpose was as a primary residence and center of operations for a large agricultural estate focused on rice cultivation. The site is situated on the Ashley River, a tidal estuary.
