Historical & Ecological Origin
The geological formations at Bryce Canyon, including those visible from Inspiration Point, are the result of a complex process of erosion. Over millions of years, water and frost action have sculpted the soft sedimentary rock layers, primarily composed of limestone, mudstone, and sandstone, into the distinctive Hoodoo shapes. The area is classified as a badlands geological formation.
