The Stratosphere Tower is a 1,149-foot observation tower located on Las Vegas Boulevard South in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States.

The tower's primary structure is a slender, reinforced concrete shaft supporting a three-tiered observation deck and a distinctive spire. The shaft is white, with the observation decks and spire featuring metallic silver and blue accents. The observation decks are enclosed with large glass panels, offering panoramic views.

The Stratosphere Tower is situated at 2000 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89104, approximately 1.5 miles north of the Las Vegas Strip's central section. Access is directly from Las Vegas Boulevard South. Ample paid parking is available in the attached casino resort's parking garage. The Deuce bus line (RTC Southern Nevada) stops directly in front of the property, serving routes along The Strip and to downtown Las Vegas.
Historical & Ecological Origin
Construction of the Stratosphere Tower began in 1992 and it opened to the public in 1996. It was designed by the architectural firm of T.D.S. & Associates and built by Perini Building Company. The tower was originally conceived as part of a larger casino resort project.

Best Time to Visit
For photography, the hour after sunset provides city lights illumination, while the hour before sunrise offers natural light on the landscape. The months of March through May and September through November generally offer the most temperate weather for outdoor activities. The tower operates year-round, with no specific tide requirements.

The Stratosphere Tower was once the site of a controversial bungee jumping operation that was later discontinued due to safety concerns and public perception. The tower's height is equivalent to approximately 100 stories.
