Construction of the T-Mobile Arena began in 2014 and was completed in April 2016. The arena was developed by MGM Resorts International and Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG). Its original purpose was to attract major sporting events, including professional hockey and basketball, as well as large-scale concerts and entertainment shows to the Las Vegas Strip.
