Autumn (September-October) provides fall color. High tide is not a relevant factor for park activities.

A unique historical oddity is the presence of Peirce Mill, a 19th-century gristmill that has been restored and occasionally operated to demonstrate historical milling processes. A lesser-known fact is that the park contains the ruins of several old stone structures, remnants of former estates that once bordered the creek.
