Plaza de la Revolución is a large public square located in the Vedado district of Havana, Cuba. It serves as a significant political and cultural center for the city.
Visual Characteristics
The plaza is an expansive, paved area covering approximately 72,000 square meters. Dominating the western side is the National Library, a 19-story building constructed from concrete and glass. The most prominent feature is the Monument to José Martí, a 109-meter tall tower topped by a star, made of white marble. The tower's base is a large concrete structure with a statue of Martí. The surrounding buildings are primarily concrete, with varying shades of grey and white.

The plaza is situated approximately 5 kilometers southwest of Old Havana. Access is via Avenida de Paseo and Avenida de la Independencia.
