Crescent Beach is located on the southeastern coast of Block Island. Access is via Corn Neck Road, which runs parallel to the beach. Parking is available in designated lots along Corn Neck Road, with capacity varying by season. Block Island is accessible by ferry from Point Judith, Rhode Island, and Montauk, New York. From the ferry terminal, Crescent Beach is approximately a 10-minute drive or a 30-minute bicycle ride south along Corn Neck Road. Local taxi services and a seasonal shuttle bus operate from the ferry terminal.

Crescent Beach is a natural accumulation of sand deposited by coastal processes, primarily longshore drift and wave action. It forms part of the Atlantic Coastal Plain physiographic province. Swimming is permitted. Sunbathing is a primary activity. Walking the length of the beach is possible. Birdwatching is common, particularly during migration seasons. Fishing from the shore is also practiced.

For photography, early morning or late afternoon light offers optimal conditions. The best months for weather are June through September, with water temperatures suitable for swimming from July to August. High tide can reduce the available beach width.
Facts & Legends
A local point of interest is the "Mohegan Bluffs" located at the southern end of the island, which are visible from the western side of Crescent Beach during clear conditions. These bluffs are associated with historical Native American narratives.
