Historical & Ecological Origin
The Ancient City was conceived by Lek Viriyaphant and construction began in 1963, opening to the public in 1972. Its purpose is to preserve and showcase Thailand's architectural heritage and historical sites in a single location. It is a man-made reconstruction, not a natural geological formation.
