The viewpoint consists of a paved stone terrace secured by glass and metal railings, integrated into the resort's cliffside edge. The terrain below is characterized by vertical limestone escarpments and the green agricultural terraces of the villages of Al Aqr and Al Ayn. The high-altitude atmosphere often results in clear, deep-blue skies or dramatic mist rolling through the canyons during seasonal changes.

Location & Access Logistics

The point is located approximately 150km from Muscat. Access strictly requires a 4WD vehicle to pass the Royal Oman Police checkpoint at the base of the mountain in Birkat Al Mouz. Visitors who are not staying at the resort can typically access the viewpoint by making a reservation at one of the on-site restaurants or by inquiring about a visitor pass at the main reception.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The site is named after Diana, Princess of Wales, who visited this specific rocky outcrop in 1986, prior to the resort's construction. The surrounding ecology is a rare sub-Mediterranean mountain environment in Oman, supporting juniper trees and the region's famous damask roses, which are used for traditional rose water production.
